The Huddy's

Until yesterday, or maybe really today, I hadn't quite fully recovered from last weekend's wedding festivities. Though most of us are reaching our 30's, we still pretend that we are 22. Which, as I'm sure you can imagine, leaves us feeling quite rough post-nuptials. But, it was well worth it and I think we'd do it all over again this weekend just to spend time with each other.

I've probably said it here before, but after a weekend with these girl's from college, I feel completely full. They are my rocks and no matter how much you love your Husband, Fiance or Boyfriend, there is nothing like a good girlfriend. Nothing.

The girls post keg stand. Who does that when they are almost 30 - us!?
About ten of us rented a beach house in Isle of Palms, South Carolina - about 15 minutes away from the wedding festivities. It was the perfect space for us and our significant others to spend some time (well mostly the boys since the girls were off doing bridesmaid things). Though the first Tropical Storm of the season showed it's face, we still managed to see some sunshine.

I love weddings but who doesn't really? Having one's family and friends in one place at one time celebrating love is an awesome thing. Lady Gray (as her grandmother calls her) and The Hud (as his friends call him) brought us all back together last Saturday to watch them say their vows. We laughed, we cried. We smiled and we cheered.

One of my favorite memories from their wedding weekend happened towards the end of Saturday night (after I shagged to about 20 beach musics songs). The band played "Piano Man" while the newly married couple danced slowly. After a few verses, every wedding attendee circled them, held hands and sang along. It's hard to describe in words, but it was one of the sweetest things I've seen.

Congrats to The Huddy's on their beautiful wedding and happy marriage. Thanks for bringing us all together to celebrate love.

  2. I think hangovers get worse as we age to punish us for all the damage we did when we were 22. Gorgeous pictures by the way!
