Upper West Sidahs

Upper West Sidahs (I like to say it in my best Yankee accent). That's what we'll be. So very soon; seven days to be exact. Oh, I guess that means that I have seven days to pack. I better get on that.

The Husband and Southern in the City finally found the new home. We looked at many apartments, good and bad, and finally found the one that suits us best. And, my commute will only be 15-20 minutes. See ya later one hour subway ride...

On Valentines Day, we decided to take a walk over to our new neighborhood for a little meet-and-greet. We love the neighborhood and all the cute restaurants, stores and parks...dog parks to be exact.

Here's a few things I'm looking forward to:

1. Shake Shack - The best hamburgers in NYC, hands down. I've tried many a burger here in the city and the gold medal goes to this fine establishment. We're not too far from this one, located at 77th and Columbus.
2. Dog Park by The Museum of Natural History - After grabbing a burger at Shake Shack, one of my favorite things to do is walk over to the dog park and get my dog fix for the day. It's a great space for medium to large dogs.

3. Green Flea Market - After you eat your Shake Shack burger and watch the dogs run and play, walk over to the Green Flea Market for some shopping. They have some real treasures here and even deliver all over the city. In fact, we bought our bedroom dresser here just last summer. Open Sunday only. 4. Cafe Lalo - I haven't been here yet, but we walked past it on Sunday. This cafe was packed full of people and looked like a great place to eat brunch. For those who like the movie, "You've Got Mail" (like my mother), this is where they filmed the first meeting scene. So there are just a few of the many things that I'm looking forward to living on the UWS.

Pictures of the apartment coming soon. But, if you're curious, click here. Warning: the music is a bit obnoxious.
